Germany disrupted supplies of MRAP armored vehicles to Ukraine

They are justified by problems with obtaining spare parts for assembly from the USA.
This is stated in a new BILD investigation.
According to BILD, Germany has promised to supply the Ukrainian Armed Forces with up to 400 heavy wheeled armored vehicles MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) with enhanced mine protection. The corresponding contract was concluded by the Ukrainian authorities and the German defense company Flensburger Fahrzeugbau GmbH (FFG) with funding from the German budget totaling 315 million euros.
The German Ministry of Defense told BILD that all vehicles are planned to be delivered this year. However, the editors have obtained a document from the German Ministry of Defense, which states that MRAPs for the Armed Forces of Ukraine should be delivered in batches of 20 from January to October 2024, but no deliveries have yet begun.
According to BILD, the plan for this year was reduced first to 200 and then to 100 cars. The start of deliveries was postponed from January to May-June.
The reason is that FFG receives spare parts for MRAP from the USA and only assembles them in Germany. The company has experienced "license restrictions for exporting from the US to Germany" as well as problems with mine protection certification.
