The Belarusian Republican Youth Council (BRSM) was included in the 14th package of sanctions against Russia by the EU Council. The reason for the inclusion of the organization in the sanctions lists, as stated in the EU, the organization's complicity in the deportation of children from the occupied regions of Ukraine to Belarus. Alexander Lukyanov, first secretary of the Central Committee of the BSYMR, has fallen under the restrictions.
"The Belarusian Republican Youth Union, an organization in Belarus, is one of the main participants in the deportation of Ukrainian children from the illegally occupied territories of Ukraine to Belarus," reads the resolution, published in the official journal of the EU.
Also, the BRSM "materially supports actions that undermine and threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine."
Also, according to the official journal of the EU, BelOMO CEO Aliaksandr Moroz and the enterprise itself, which is engaged in optoelectronic instrument-making, have fallen under the sanctions.
Official Minsk together with the Belarusan Red Cross regularly take children from the Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine and justify it by health improvement. Also, the Belarusian authorities and pro-governmental public organizations maintain contacts with the authorities of the Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia.
Ukraine calls the export of children from the occupied territories to Russia and Belarus an illegal transfer. The Office of the Prosecutor-General of Ukraine has launched a criminal case over the deportation of more than 19,000 children from Donbas, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhya, Kherson and Kharkiv regions.
The International Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin and children's ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova for the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children from the occupied territories of Ukraine.
Evidence that Ukrainian children from the territories temporarily occupied by Russia were illegally taken to Belarus was submitted to the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
