Putin's worst enemy Alexei Navalny died in a prison

Opposition leader and political prisoner Alexei Navalny has died in prison. It was reported in the Department of the Federal Service for the Execution of Punishment.

According to the agency, Navalny felt ill after the walk, almost instantly losing consciousness. An ambulance was called to the scene.

"All necessary resuscitation measures were carried out, which did not give positive results. Ambulance doctors stated the death of the convict", - writes the Department of the Federal Penitentiary Service.

According to the propagandist media outlet RT, Alexei Navalny has suffered a blood clot rejection. Navalny's lawyer refused to comment on the situation.

"On the decision of Alexei Navalny's family, I don't comment on anything at all. We are now sorting things out. Alexei's lawyer was with him on Wednesday. Everything was normal then," Leonid Solovyov said.

A statement from the politician's team notes that they have no confirmation of his death - "Alexei's lawyer is now flying to Kharp. As soon as we have some information, we will report it".

According to Putin's press secretary, the politician's death was reported to him. Peskov noted that there is no data on the cause of Navalny's death yet, "it is necessary to give time to the medics to carry out all the necessary checks." He also emphasized that "the Federal Penitentiary Service is in charge of all the necessary checks, and no additional instructions in this matter are required."

Alexei Navalny was imprisoned in IK-3 in the settlement of Kharp in Russia's Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District after being transferred from IK-6 in the Vladimir region. In February 2021, he was sentenced in the Yves Rocher case, finding him guilty of fraud, and sentenced to two years and eight months in a general regime colony. In March 2022, Navalny was convicted in another case of fraud and insulting a judge, and sentenced to nine years in a strict regime colony.

In August of the same year, he was charged with creating an extremist community, calling for extremism, creating an NGO that violates citizens' rights, financing extremism, as well as involving minors in dangerous actions, and rehabilitating Nazism. In total, Navalny was sentenced to 19 years in prison.
