Terrorist attack in Moscow: suspects detained

Terrorist attack in Moscow region kills at least 93 people, 121 are in hospital

At about 20:00 Moscow time, the first reports of shooting began to come in at the Crocus City Hall, where the concert of the band "Picnic" was to take place.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation says preliminary figures show 93 people were killed and more than 121 injured.

TASS, citing operational services, reported that an explosion occurred in the building after the shooting started. An hour and a half later, Interfax, also citing operational services, reported a second explosion, resulting in the collapse of the roof.

Russian media reported that the fire engulfed most of the concert hall building.

According to the propagandists, Putin has been informed of the detention of 11 people, including all four terrorists directly involved in the attack.

A night interception operation was organized near the village of Khatsun, Karachinsky District, Bryansk Region. Four men were in the car; two of them managed to be detained, while the other two fled into the forest.

During the clash with law enforcers, one of the men was injured because he failed to comply with the requirement to stop. The man in question was 19-year-old Muhammadsober Faizov.

"He's been shot. The photo shows him in handcuffs. His left eye is not closing due to the injury. He is now in the hospital for surgery," according to 'Shot'.

Alexander Khinshtein, a member of the Russian State Duma, said that one of the terrorists was detained on the spot while the other tried to escape, resulting in gunfire being opened on the car.

"During the pursuit, gunfire was opened and the car overturned. One terrorist was detained on the spot, the rest fled into the forest. As a result of the search at about 3.50, the second suspect was found and detained. The search for the others continues. All law enforcement agencies are involved in the operation," Khinshtein said.
