The FSB has stated that it has discovered smuggling of explosives from Ukraine. The law enforcers allegedly found explosive devices inside Orthodox icons and church utensils.
The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has said that it has stopped a "smuggling channel" for the supply of explosives to Russia from Ukraine via transit through EU countries. RIA Novosti propagandists reported this.
Security forces said they discovered 27 explosive devices hidden in "Orthodox icons and church utensils" while inspecting a car at a checkpoint in the Pskov region.
"In the attachments of icons was found the plastic explosive substance of increased power - hexogen. The power of this explosive is one and a half times the power of TNT. The mass of the seized explosive is enough to blow up a five-story apartment building," said the head of the ECC of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Pskov region.

The law enforcers reported about the alleged detention of a suspect in the transportation of explosives. According to them, "the organizers and accomplices of the transport" will be put on a wanted list.
