On the night of May 15-16, Ukrainian drones attacked a Russian airbase located in Crimea, and tonight oil depots, a prort and a power plant were attacked.
Maxar satellite images show destruction at the Belbek base near Sevastopol. There, judging by satellite photos, at least two MiG-31 and one Su-27 fighters were completely destroyed and one MiG-29 was damaged. In addition, a fuel depot located near the runway at the airbase was burned down. The morning after the attack, Ukrainian media circulated photos from the airfield of the allegedly destroyed S-400 air defense system.
Earlier, Ukrainian journalists quoted military officials as saying that the strikes on the Russian airfield were carried out by American ATACAMS missiles that had recently arrived in service with the AFU.
This morning, a massive Ukrainian drone attack on Crimea led to a large-scale power outage in Sevastopol. Military analysts say that this attack was the most massive since the beginning of the war.
The Tuapse oil refinery, a Transneft terminal, a fuel oil terminal and port in Novorossiysk, and a substation in Sevastopol were reportedly attacked.
All of the attacked locations have previously been subjected to drone strikes and, logically, should be covered by an air defense system. Nevertheless, video footage on social networks shows “arrivals” and heavy fires. As military analysts point out, the large scale of the attack has shown its results. The Russian air defense could not cope with so many drones, so in the video you can see that the military tried to shoot down the drones with small arms.
At the same time, according to local authorities, no one was injured.
