A man shot his drinking companion in order to go to prison and go to war from there. His sentence was commuted for this

"There's no other way, you're my ticket to Special military operation."

A court in Russia has sentenced local resident Alexei Orlov to a two-year suspended sentence for shooting his drinking buddy. Explaining his motives to the court, the man said that he wanted to go to war.

According to the investigation, on January 2, Orlov was visited by his acquaintance, with whom they began drinking vodka. During the conversation, Orlov confessed that he wanted to go to war in Ukraine as a volunteer, but the military enlistment office twice refused him because he did not have a residence registration.

Orlov began to threaten his drinking buddy allegedly because he was offended by his jokes about him. The latter mocked the man's desire to go to war. That's when Orlov had a brilliant idea in his drunken head. He shot his buddy with a shotgun. According to the victim, at the last moment he diverted the muzzle with the palm of his hand, and this probably saved his life: the shooter hit him in the thigh.

After the shot, Orlov, as he admitted to the court, dropped the gun and said: "there's no other way, you're my ticket to Special military operation."

The defendant admitted his guilt in full, and said that if he had been sober, he would have shot more accurately.

The mitigating circumstance was the victim's unlawful behavior: "he insulted him, said hurtful words, humiliated his human dignity, mocked his desire and intention to take part in a special military operation". The court also took into account Orlov's desire to fight.

Later Orlov published in his social networks a photo in military uniform and with weapons, as well as pictures of the dugout.
