The russian military utilized nearly all available means for the strikes on the night of December 29th. According to Yuriy Ignat, a representative of the AFU Air Force, Russia deployed a wide range of missiles and drones during the assault, except for "Kalibras".
The russian military utilized "Daggers", ballistic missiles, S-300s, cruise missiles, kamikaze drones, Kh-22s or Kh-32s. Additionally, some 18 strategic bombers launched Kh-101/X-505 missiles.
Multiple ukrainian cities, including Kiev, Lviv, Odessa, Zaporozhye, Dnipro, Rivne, Konotop, and others, were hit. Ukraine's Energy Ministry reported widespread power outages in several regions following the overnight missile strikes.
There have been at least 12 reported fatalities across the country, with 75 others injured. In Dnipro a shopping center was attacked, resulting in 5 deaths and 15 injuries. Furthermore, a russian missile struck a maternity hospital but thankfully caused no casualties.


In Kiev, a missile hit the roof of an unfinished business center, and the Lukyanivska metro station was also targeted. In Odessa, a missile hit a residential complex, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuring 15, including two children aged six and eight, as reported by the head of the regional administration, Oleg Kiper.


Kharkiv was the target of over 20 missiles, carried out by S-300 missiles, resulting in one fatality and 11 injuries. Lviv, too, experienced an attack on a residential neighborhood, leading to damage in thirteen multi-story houses, two schools, and numerous vehicles, resulting in one fatality and 15 injuries.

Context: In the days prior, near Feodosia (annexed Crimea), a russian warship, "Novocherkassk," carrying iranian kamikaze drones according to one account, was hit. The overnight attack on civilian targets in Ukraine is believed to be in retaliation for the destruction of the ship.
