German publication BILD published an interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. In a conversation with journalists, the Ukrainian president said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had a plan for a counter-offensive but needed weapons, including from the USA, to implement it.
"Yes, we have a counter-offensive plan," Zelenskyy said. - We will definitely win. We have no alternative. But I can't promise it and I can't name a date," Zelenskyy told BILD reporters. "Yes, Russia has more men, more weapons. But the united West has modern weapons systems. So we will get certain technologies. And if we continue to increase production, if we get licenses from our partners, it's not about the number of people. It's about the quality of weapons," the president added.
The journalists also talked about long-range German Taurus missiles, the transfer of which the German government is constantly failing. Zelenskyy replied that he himself does not understand why Ukraine has not yet been able to receive these weapons, which "are needed today to survive".
"Our partners have certain weapons that we need today to survive. Ukraine needs it to survive, and I just don't understand why we are not getting these weapons. <...> As far as I understand, the chancellor says that Germany is not a nuclear power and that this is the strongest weapon Germany has," Zelenskyy said. He agreed that Olaf Scholz is afraid of Russia's nuclear threats. "But I don't think it will protect the world from a nuclear threat from Russia," the Ukrainian president said.
