Journalists reported that the Biden administration would return to the previous delivery schedule. Under it, announcements about the transfer of shells and equipment occurred about every two weeks.
Two U.S. officials say the aid package will be announced soon. "That was the general sequence for most of last year until the money ran out and before Congress finally passed a $60 billion aid package last month," the publication emphasizes.
U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin confirmed at the opening of the Contact Group meeting on Ukraine that the country will soon receive the promised weapons. According to him, special attention is paid to air defense systems.
"Ukraine will soon receive what we promised. Another package for $400 million was signed at the beginning of the month. New Patriot batteries were issued in order to strengthen Kyiv's defense and protection. We are also following the requirements that Ukraine is handing over to us. [...] This package includes armored vehicles so that Ukraine can rebuild its arsenal," the defense minister says.
