Iran has supplied Russia with modern aerial bombs

According to BILD, Moscow and Tehran have reached a “new level” of cooperation.

BILD expert Julian Röpcke reported that the Iranian authorities for the first time supplied Russia with the latest aerial bombs for strikes on Ukraine. The information is based on the analysis of open data and video of the crash of the Iranian drone Mohajer-6 in the Kursk region. According to the analyst, this drone was carrying the newest Iranian guided aerial bomb Qaem-5 (“Qaem-5”).

It is noteworthy that Qaem-5 bombs were adopted into service in Iran only five years ago. According to Röpcke, the drone was supposed to be headed for the Sumy region but crashed for an unknown reason.

Until then, the Russian occupiers had not used Kaim-5 precision-guided aerial bombs. According to Röpcke, their use indicates a “new level” of military cooperation between Tehran and the Kremlin.

It became known that the Russians lost one of their Mohajer-6 reconnaissance and strike drones, which they purchased from Iran. The incident occurred in the Kursk region, as reported by Defense Express, citing open sources.

Earlier, Iranian media claimed that Qaem-5 smart bombs, depending on the altitude of flight, are capable of hitting targets at a distance of 12 to 20 kilometers. According to them, there is also an “unknown” type of bomb with a range of up to 40 kilometers.
