The German edition of Bild published an article in which they reported that Ukrainians have to contend not only with constant Russian attacks on peaceful cities, but also with the hysterics of Western “allies” who claim to fear an escalation in the 27th month of the war.
While Russia launches almost 5,000 artillery shells at Kharkiv every day, Ukraine is not allowed to return fire with any Western ammunition, because the occupiers are shelling from Russian territory. Such conditions are set by Western countries when supplying their weapons.
“It's like a boxing match in which a fighter gets his hand tied on his back,” described a Ukrainian military officer the situation in the Kharkiv direction.
The Ukrainian military told the Ukrainian publication that the AFU once used the German Patriot system to strike “at its own discretion.” The reaction: angry calls from Berlin and Washington and threats to stop supplying anti-aircraft missiles if such an incident happens again.
Ukraine is also not allowed to use Western air defense against attacks by Russian planes. It has to wait for the bombers to fire their cruise missiles and only when the missiles, which are aimed at peaceful cities, are over Ukrainian territory can it try to shoot them down.
Moreover, Russian troops are shelling Kharkiv region with artillery from Russian territory and Ukraine has been forbidden to use Western weapons to retaliate against Russian territory.
A Ukrainian soldier who is now under the almost occupied Vovchansk, Kharkiv region told social network X that “from 6:00 to 15:00 the Russians fired 6 to 12 artillery grenades every minute. Every minute without a break. All their artillery is in Russia. They are firing everywhere and burning everything: villages, Vovchansk, forests. But we cannot shoot from a safe distance with artillery delivered by the US (and other allies).”
