Protesting farmers in Moldova blocked the "Leusheni - Albica" checkpoint on the border with Romania.
Moldova's border police warned of a complete blockade of vehicle traffic in the direction of the checkpoint.
'Law enforcers maintain public order and restore road traffic. We recommend using alternative checkpoints: "Skulyany", "Kosteshty - Stynka" or "Leova - Bumbeta",' the border police wrote.
The "Farmers' Power" association tentatively reported the start of an "indefinitely timed" protest in Cahul district, starting February 7.
Farmers from Cahul district were joined by colleagues from different parts of the country. On February 10, the protesters reached the Leusheni checkpoint, blocking traffic.
The "Farmers' Power" association announced five protests across the country on Monday. Participants in the events blocked roads, making demands to the government and parliament to immediately start a constructive dialog to provide urgent financial support.
In January, Romanian farmers and transporters already blockaded checkpoints on the border with Moldova.
