Former Boeing quality control manager John Barnett, known for his criticism of the company's manufacturing standards, was found dead March 9.
His body was found in a car in a parking lot outside a hotel in Charleston, where he was testifying as part of a lawsuit against Boeing. According to police, the man shot himself, but the investigation into his death is ongoing.
Barnett told the Air Force in 2019 that workers were often pressured by management to install low-quality parts on airplanes. He had worked for the company for 32 years.
Barnett warned managers about his concerns, but he was ignored. After retirement, John began a lengthy lawsuit against the corporation.
