Putin and Kim Jong-un signed a treaty on "comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and the DPRK". It stipulates, among other things, the provision of mutual assistance in case of aggression against one of the participants. This was announced after the talks with the Chairman of the DPRK Kim Jong-un.
He also noted that Russia will develop military-technical cooperation with the DPRK.
"Russia does not exclude for itself the development of military-technical cooperation with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in connection with the signed Treaty on Strategic Cooperation," Putin was quoted as saying by the Kremlin media.
Kim Jong-un emphasized that the treaty is "peaceful and defensive in nature." Putin added that "both Russia and Korea pursue an independent foreign policy and do not accept the language of blackmail and diktat."
Other details of the document are not yet known.
In addition to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty, the two sides signed agreements on cooperation in health care, medical education and science and on the construction of a border highway bridge over the Tumannaya River
Putin also called the supply of high-precision weapons and F-16 aircraft to Ukraine for strikes against targets on Russian territory "a gross violation of the restrictions assumed by Western countries within the framework of various international commitments".
We shall remind you that South Korea and Western countries claim that the DPRK last year started large-scale deliveries of weapons and ammunition to the Russian Federation. This is a violation of international sanctions against the DPRK, which Russia has pledged to honor. Moscow and Pyongyang denied the facts of arms deliveries.
